Advanced Map Reading Course
Our two day and the evening before Advanced Map Reading course (Silver National Navigation Award Scheme) is perfect for those who already have a good grasp on navigation or have completed our Introduction to Map Reading weekend (Bronze NNAS) and are now looking to take the next step.
Over the weekend you will build on your previous knowledge, gaining a deeper understanding of map reading whilst developing your compass skills so that both the map and the compass now act as one tool. You will also spend time ‘off track’ as we develop your understanding of navigating without the aid of footpaths, a skill that can be very much needed when walking in Scotland.
The two day course will be run with no more than eight people enabling us time focus on you and your learning outcomes. You do not need to be mountain fit for the course but simply be able to enjoy two days of walking in the beautiful Highlands.
